So as I said about a week ago, I am going to go on a cinematic adventure for the ages. Watch all top 100 movies all of time, according to the Internet Movie Database, from 100 to 1.
First on the list was Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
So yesterday I began the list with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Growing up, I had heard about this movie from soooo many people. One of my best friends in high school constantly quoted it and thought it was hilarious. So I was actually happy I now had a reason to watch it.
The most popular scene from this flick is definitely The Black Knight. A stubborn knight who continues to fight even after losing all limbs.
I personally thought that this scene was okay but vastly overrated. It didn’t really make me laugh a single time.
There were really only a couple of scenes that made me laugh. One being the Bridge of Death scene and the other being the Sacred Granade scene. I didn’t really see either of them coming and catching me off guard with a clever little line will make me laugh.
But enough recap, down to the rankings.
The scale will go from 1-10
– I believe that some of the jokes were a little clever and had me chuckling, but not too often.
– Hard to really determine acting in a British goofy comedy. So I pretty much just made up the number.
– I do not believe I would have ever watched this if it were not for the list. And after I watched it, I did not change my mind in the slightest.
– I’ve never really been a fan of British comedy shows or movies. Just too weird for me. A lot of the jokes just didn’t land for me and I found myself falling asleep at 3 or 4 different parts of the movie. It just couldn’t hold my interest.
I would not recommend this to pretty much anyone that I know. It seemed like an overrated cult-classic that didn’t really fit me humor.
Next on the list is:
#99: 3 Idiots
