My Best NBA Trade Machine Moves for the Milwaukee Bucks

What is the best way to spend the first day of summer?  Some would say going to the beach, others would light up the grill, but for me, it’s staying inside and pretend to be Jon Horst on the NBA Trade Machine.  Although I don’t understand why the trade machine does not include draft picks, here are five possible trades the Bucks could make that I would like to see.

 

 

1.  Milwaukee Bucks/Phoenix Suns

   This trade would give the Bucks more outside shooting that they need in Devin Booker, who averaged about 22 points per game.  Eric Bledsoe is a point guard who can pass, defend the perimeter, and drive the lane.  He had 6.3 assists per game and could shut down some of the best shooters in the league.  I can imagine a 1-3-1 offense with Bledsoe at the point, Booker and Middleton on the wings, Giannis dominating the high post, and Monroe down low.  This trade would also satisfy the Suns need for bad trades consisting of past-their-prime veterans and another big man that they already have too many of that they always seem to make, so win-win, right?

2. Milwaukee Bucks/LA ClippersI am sorry Jabari, it’s not you, it’s me.  It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Parker needs to be traded away due to his injury problems.  The only thing that could numb my pain over losing Jabari would be getting one of the most exciting power forwards in Los Angeles the NBA, Luc Mbah a Moute.  Mbah a Moute’s return to the Bucks would lead to resigning 2008 Michael Redd and 2012 Brandon Jennings.  After a couple of years, Luc’s farewell tour would dwarf Kobe’s final season.  Seeing Blake Griffin rock the Bradley Center would be neat too.
3. Milwaukee Bucks/Chicago Bulls/New Orleans PelicansThe additions of Anthony Davis and Jimmy Butler would be beneficial on both sides of the ball.  Davis is a massive upgrade at center, averaging 22.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game compared to Monroe’s 11.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks per game.  For all you Bulls fans out there, why would you want Butler when you have the chance to get Omer Asik back?  “Asik and Destroy” was the coolest catchphrase I ever heard for a player of his caliber.  Jimmy Butler would only have to move a couple miles north to meet up with the Bucks.  His scoring and playmaking abilities make him a threat anywhere on the court.  The young, superstar frontcourt of Davis, Giannis, and Butler may have what it takes to beat Golden State in the Finals.
4. Milwaukee Bucks/Dallas Mavericks/Boston Celtics/Chicago BullsI want to reiterate, these are trades I would like to see.  Not all of them would be beneficial in the long run.  After this trade, the Bucks (a.k.a. Marquette All-star team) would have the best team chemistry in the league.  I’d like to imagine the team hanging out on Bradford Beach, dominating TBT during the offseason, or swinging by Real Chili after a win at the Bradley Center for a spicy bowl of victory chili.  Maybe Lebron would take less money to have the chance to play with D-Wade like he did in Miami.  This trade would also require getting Doc Rivers to coach and signing Steve Novak for a 1-year player/coach deal.
5. Milwaukee Bucks/Golden State Warriors/New York Knicks/Detroit PistonsThe odds of this trade happening are about a billion to one, but please indulge me on this one.  There is no question that this team would be the all-time best basketball team ever created.  With a starting 5 of the Splash Brothers, Giannis, Porzingis, and Drummond, I see no weakness in this team.  Steph and Klay can rain threes, and Drummond can finish any shots that do not fall.  Porzingis is a versatile 7-footer with an amazing shot outside and in the post.  Speaking of versatility, Giannis Antetokounmpo can play any position on the court and help the offense by driving the lane and finishing at the rim or kicking out for an easy three.  On defense, Klay, Steph, and Giannis can guard any shooter, and Drummond and Porzingis can defend the lane.  The Bucks are still able to keep Jabari Parker, Thon Maker, Khris Middleton, and Malcolm Brogdon on the bench, which is still a force to be reckoned with on its own.   This team would be fast-paced and exciting to watch, sell out the Bradley Center for every game, and could easily become one of the best dynasties that the NBA has ever seen.

 

So there you go, Horst.  Five trades that would put asses in seats.  You can have them if you would like, and all I ask in return are just a few season tickets.  That seems like a successful trade to me.
