In a time of constant bad news, stories like these are well needed. The Atlanta Braves sent out a press release stating that they will give free tickets to their upcoming series against the Miami Marlins to those with valid state IDs that are displaced from their homes due to Hurricane Irma.
Now before those of you out there say anything like, “Well people clearly have more things to worry about than a baseball game”, just stop and think for a minute. These people who have to leave their homes and their belongings in order to stay safe are having their lives turned upside down. They might lose almost everything they own all because of Mother Nature. Nothing they did, just weather.
If they have the chance and opportunity to catch a baseball game then I think that would be a great idea. It would give them a few hours to themselves and pretend that things are just normal. Just sit in a seat and watch a ballgame and not even think about what is outside that stadium. Cheers to you Atlanta Braves.
