Matthew Boyd was one out away from joining the no-no club this weekend. With two outs in the 9th inning, yeah that means he was literally one out away, Tim Anderson came up to bat as the last hope for the White Sox:

As you can see, Boyd was unable to join the no-hit club. Literally just one out away. That is like taking a beautiful woman home from the bar and then finding out she has no lady parts down there. Literally just Barbie when it comes to the underpants. I feel for you Matthew Boyd.
The fact that is was a Tigers’ pitcher being one out away from history reminds me of the single greatest robbery in sports history. Armando Galarraga’s Perfect Game:
P.S.: Honestly, just the disappointment and hurt that you hear in the announcer’s voice is heartbreaking. I still feel awful for everyone involved in the play in any way.
