5th year in the NBA. Just signed a $100 Million contract. Most Improved Player. Lead team in basically every statistical category last season. This man (maybe superhuman?) is unbelieveable and hasn’t even hit his 23d birthday…
Giannis Antetokounmpo. AKA: The Greek Freak.
We have seen this guy literally go from a boy:
To a MAN:
That snarl is a perfect encapsulation of the player that Giannis has become. He steps on the court with an agenda: kick some goddamn ass. Baby Giannis would go out there and work on his game, hope to put up some numbers and maybe even win some games in the small town of Milwaukee, WI. Now, Man Giannis goes out there and knows he can take 3 steps from midcourt and dunk and he dares you to challenge him. The swagger and attitude that #34 brings is something that Milwaukee hasn’t seen in quite some time. He is physically able to take over games and now his work ethic is helping his game catch up to the potential that his physical abilities have given him.
You can see his progression year after year:
He has started this season on an absolute tear too:
A strong 3-1 record is the hot start that the Bucks needed. These numbers have made the world of sports media take note as well.
Yeah I get it. A 4-game stretch doesn’t make someone the best player in the league, and that is not what I am saying. Yeah I will still take LeBron over anyone if I needed one player to win me a game with my life depending on it. But Giannis is ONLY 22 YEARS OLD. I just turned 23 last week and I woke up on my floor with a puddle of, what I hope is water, right next to me. I am older than the man who is basically averaging 37/11/5 in the National Basketball Association against professional men who are paid millions of dollars to do nothing but try and stop him from doing what he is doing. It’s not like Giannis and his opponent have the same agenda. Men will think for days, weeks, months on how the hell are they going to stop the Greek Freak and he still goes out there and does what he does.
Yes, he can’t keep this pace up all season. But his numbers will skyrocket this season and only get better because, one more time for the people in the back, HE IS ONLY 22 YEARS OLD.
