I can’t believe people are always confused on why southern Florida sports teams finish the season towards the bottom in league attendance. The weather is always perfect and there will always be something to do in nice weather. Don’t want to go the Marlins game? Makes sense. You can just go chill on the beach all day and then go to the club later that night. So why go to a baseball game? The only reasonable explanation for skipping out on a beach/club day is to go see a GOOD TEAM.
Now, the Marlins are in their 4th or 5th gutting and rebuild in their extremely short history. They are dumping payroll and getting rid of not just good players, but INCREDIBLE players (it’s capitalized, so you know it’s important).
Stanton trade to #Yankees happening, as @JonHeyman said.

Giancarlo Stanton is now a New York Yankee. He and Aaron Judge are each going to hit 128 HRs each next season.
#Marlins' reported haul of #STLCards prospects for Marcell Ozuna:
9. Sandy Alcantara, RHP
6. Magneuris Sierra, OF
13. Zac Gallen, RHP

Marcell Ozuna is now a St. Louis Cardinal. This guy might be the most overlooked player in the Majors due to playing in Stanton’s shadow. If I showed you his stats from last season without showing you the name on his jersey, you might think he got some MVP votes…
Those are incredible. Nobody talked about this guy last year and then all of a sudden, poof, he has a monster year. Not one of those numbers show that he just spiked for one season. And now he is a goddamn St. Louis Cardinal in exchange for some loose change and a piece of gum.
I get it, this new ownership group wants to cut salary to start building a team for the future. If I asked you how you would build for the future, what would you want to start with? Maybe a once in a lifetime talent? Not bad huh? Well not only did the Marlins have one, but he signed a contract saying that he wanted to play for you for 10 more years.
After that, let’s say that we toss in one, maybe two more All-Star caliber players and we are getting somewhere, right? Hell, because it’s the holiday season, I’ll even give you a Batting Champion. Yelich. Ozuna. Gordon. That is four great bats to have in a market that is tough to lure any baseball talent at all. Most of the heavy lifting was done.
But alas, here we are. Another year, another Marlins rebuild. How can anybody be a loyal fan to this team? Marlins Man only does it for the Troops and after that, according to oncloudconine.mlblogs.com, this shirtless boy is the next biggest fan:
Pathetic. Why even have a team in Miami then? No loyalty can be build when you take peanuts for arguably the 2nd best player in the sport. You build a $1 billion (with a B) stadium to keep these players and fans, but instead you just ship them away. This team and ownership group is a joke and an insult to the game.
The rumors on the internet say that the MLB had an ownership group that had the money to keep the core together and wanted to build a winner now but instead chose the much cheaper group to get Derek Jeter back in the game. Some say that Jeter is still being paid by the Yankees to infiltrate the Marlins and get Giancarlo to the Bronx. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised by either. The Marlins are a joke.
