This is wild to think that vertigo would keep a professional athlete out of competition for such a long time. Crawford has been out since before Christmas and it has been tough for the Blackhawks to get back on track.
If the playoffs started today, the ‘Hawks would be on the outside looking in when it comes to the Playoff Picture. Unbelievable. Guys like Anton Forsberg and Jeff Glass have been called on to try and right the ship for the boys in Chicago and haven’t been terrible, but not what the ‘Hawks need in order to be considered a threat.
The thing is, the sport of hockey just gets faster and younger every year and the dynasty years of the Chicago Blackhawks might be in the rearview mirror. We are one year separated from a #1 Seeded Chicago Blackhawks team but since that first-round sweep at the hands of the Nashville Predators last season, the Blackhawks just seem more vulnerable and beatable than since their run began. Kind of scary to think of because it has been one hell of a ride.
All that being said, as long as you have a healthy core of Kane, Toews and Keith, you have always have the chance of a Playoff Run.
