Valspar Championship Preview: Tiger Is On the Prowl

The PGA stops by The Snakepit this week for the Valspar Open. This tournament’s field is chop full of big names as everyone is getting their games tuned as Augusta is right around the corner. Players like Rory, Spieth, Rose, Sergio, Henrik, Adam Scott and most important: Eldrick Woods.

Tiger has been looking very solid in his latest comeback this season. Two Top-25 finishes in three starts this season and the most important part is that he is playing tournaments in consecutive weeks. These consecutive tournaments have good fields that have big names to show where Tiger can hold his own against top players in the game. I would love to see another Top-25 finish from Tiger this week and move forward as healthy as can be.

The rest of the field is fun to watch as well. The names I listed above will try and knock off defending champion, Adam Hadwin. There are a lot of great players on the PGA Tour, but the odds that another guy like Adam Hadwin winning this tournament if any of those names that I brought up earlier play well in any way. Adam Hadwin cannot stay in the fairway on Sunday if Rory and Henrik and Justin Rose are on his heels. He will crumble like a biscuit. The second-round leader last week in Mexico, Shubhanker Sharma, showed exactly how that happens.

The course is known is known as “The Snakepit” and it can definitely sneak up and get some players. I do think that a big name will win this tournament because you need to be a good tee-to-green player. My officially correct prediction is…

Henrik Stenson. (You’re Welcome)
